The sheriff of the metropolitan government or his or her duly appointed deputy or
any person appointed by a judge of the court for such purpose, shall be empowered
to serve regular process, writs and papers issued by said court with the same authority
and power provided for such service in the inferior courts of this state. Any person
specifically appointed for such purpose under this section shall serve without compensation.
