§ 16.01. County judge.

  • Nothing in this Charter is intended or shall be construed to alter or affect the judicial powers and functions of the county judge and the same shall continue as provided by general law or private act. The compensation of the county judge shall be as provided by general law with respect to chancellors; provided, that this section shall not alter or diminish the compensation of the incumbent county judge prior to the expiration of his or her present term of office in 1966. The county judge is hereby recognized as an officer of the metropolitan government in the exercise of his or her judicial functions, having the same relationship to such metropolitan government in the performance of such judicial functions as he or she previously had to the County of Davidson.
