§ 18.04. Nashville Housing Authority.

  • The Nashville Housing Authority, created pursuant to section 13-20-401 to section 13-20-418, inclusive, of Tennessee Code Annotated, is hereby recognized as existing and functioning within the area of the metropolitan government and as having the same relationship to the metropolitan government as said Nashville Housing Authority previously had to the City of Nashville. Said housing authority is hereby declared to be a city housing authority as provided for by Tennessee Code Annotated, sections 13-20-401 to 13-20-418, inclusive, and also as a county housing authority as provided for by Tennessee Code Annotated sections 13-20-501 to 13-20-511, inclusive. The metropolitan mayor shall be deemed a mayor for the purposes of said city housing authorities act as therein referred to. He or she shall have authority to designate and appoint, subject to confirmation by the council, members of the board of commissioners of The Nashville Housing Authority of the metropolitan government as their terms expire or as their offices otherwise become vacant.
