§ 3.07. No pensions for councilmembers.

Members of the council shall not be eligible to receive and shall not receive any pension by reason of their service as members of said council.

Nothing in this section shall be deemed to abrogate or diminish the obligation of the metropolitan government to pay pensions to those persons who upon the effective date of this Charter are entitled to receive pensions by reason of their years of service as councilmembers of the City of Nashville or who upon the expiration of the terms for which they have been elected as such councilmember would become entitled to receive such pensions.
