§ 8.703. Director of aviation—Qualifications, appointment and compensation.

  • The head of the department of aviation shall be the director, whose annual compensation, payable semimonthly, shall be twelve thousand ($12,000) dollars. A permanent vacancy in the office of the director shall be filled by appointment made by the mayor, subject to the civil service provisions of this charter. He or she shall be a person with experience in an executive or major administrative position in municipal or other public airport operations and familiar with the rules and regulations of the authorized governmental agencies concerning airport operations and aeronautic requirements.
