§ 27. Official records.

  • The court shall make and keep records of all cases brought before it, and shall devise and cause to be printed such forms for social and legal records and such other papers as may be required. The court's official records shall be open to inspection only by consent of the judge to persons having legitimate interest therein. All information obtained and social records prepared in the discharge of official duty by any employee of the court shall be privileged and shall not be disclosed directly or indirectly to anyone other than the judge or other persons entitled to receive such information under this Act, unless and until otherwise ordered by the judge.

    The name or picture of any child under the jurisdiction of the court shall not be made public by any newspaper, radio, or television station except as authorized by order of the court. Any person who violates this provision shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to prosecution in the criminal court of this county. The Judge of the Juvenile Court of Davidson County shall exclude photographers and reporters from all hearings and prohibit any publicity respecting any child under the jurisdiction of the court which may be injurious to the interest or reputation or welfare of such child.
