§ 1.15. Legally incompetent.

  • If any member, retired member, survivor, beneficiary or contingent annuitant is a minor, or is in the judgment of the pension commission otherwise legally incapable of personally receiving and giving a valid receipt for any payment due him hereunder, the commission may, unless and until claim shall have been made by a duly appointed guardian or conservator of such person, direct that such payment or any part thereof be made to such person's spouse, child, parent, brother, or sister, deemed by the commission to have incurred expenses for or assumed responsibility for the expenses of such person. Any payment so made shall be a complete discharge of any liability under the system for such payment.
