§ 10.20.310. Tip fees generally.

  • Every Person disposing of solid waste at a sanitary landfill, incinerator or collection station owned or operated by the metropolitan government shall pay a tip fee of six dollars per cubic yard or twenty-four dollars per ton of loose or compacted waste unless a different fee is specified in this chapter. The tip fee specified in this section shall be reduced to five dollars per cubic yard or twenty dollars per ton if the person generating or producing such waste separates recyclable materials from the waste before the waste is collected or hauled from the premises on which it is generated or produced and the separation does not create a public nuisance or cause injury to the public health, safety or welfare and:

    A.

    For waste other than construction and demolition waste, the separation results in a minimum of eighty percent of the waste generated or produced by that person being diverted to recycling.

    B.

    The separated recycled materials are reused by the separating person or disposed of by sale or gift for reuse.
