§ 12.08.100. Driver's or chauffeur's license—Required.

  • No person, except those exempted by Tennessee Code Annotated, shall drive any motor vehicle upon any street, alley or thoroughfare within the jurisdiction of the metropolitan government unless such person has a valid license as an operator or chauffeur as provided for in such state law. No person shall operate a motor vehicle as a chauffeur unless he holds a valid chauffeur's license. Every holder of a valid operator or chauffeur license shall have his license in his immediate possession at all times when operating a motor vehicle. In addition, whenever a holder of a valid operator or chauffeur license changes his address, he must notify the Tennessee Department of Motor Vehicles of such change of address within ten days of the change of address.
