§ 12.32.050. Mufflers—Prevention of noise, fumes and smoke.

  • A.

    It is unlawful to operate any motor vehicle at any time unless equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise, and no person shall use a muffler cut-out, bypass or similar device upon a vehicle on a highway, within the metropolitan government.

    B.

    It is unlawful to operate the engine and power mechanism of every motor vehicle unless equipped and adjusted as to prevent the escape of excessive fumes or smoke.

    C.

    Section 12.84.010 sets out the penalty for violation of this section.
