§ 16.20.290. Additions to existing installations—Prerequisites.

No permit shall be issued to install additional wires, machinery, apparatus, devices, equipment or materials to existing installations until sufficient information has been furnished the director of codes administration that the installation is of ample size and capacity to safely carry the existing and added loads. If the installation is of ample size to safely carry the intended load, the department of codes administration may issue a permit; otherwise, the installation shall be made safe and the capacity increased before additional work is installed.
