This chapter is declared to be remedial, and shall be construed to secure the beneficial
interests and purposes thereof, which are public health, safety, and welfare, through
establishing and requiring minimum standards for the development, construction, use,
occupancy, and maintenance of all buildings, structures and premises located within
the area of jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson
County and establishing procedures for the repair, alteration, improvement, removal,
and or demolition of dilapidated dwellings and structures located within the area
of jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.
