§ 16.24.140. Issuance of temporary certificates of occupancy.

  • No person shall occupy, let, or offer to let to another for occupancy or use, any building, structure, or premises, or part thereof, which does not comply with the provisions of this chapter and for which a certificate of occupancy, as required by Chapter 16.36 of this code, has not been issued. The director may issue a temporary certificate of occupancy for a specified period of time, when in the director's opinion a part, or parts, of a building, structure, or premises may be safely occupied prior to final completion.
