§ 16.24.250. Temporary safeguards.

  • Notwithstanding other provisions of this chapter, whenever, in the opinion of the director, there is imminent danger due to an unsafe condition, the director may order that necessary safeguards be instituted, including the boarding-up of openings, and may cause such other action to be taken as the director deems necessary to meet such emergency and render such building or structure temporarily safe, whether or not the legal procedures herein described have been instituted. The order requiring temporary safeguards shall notify the recipient of the right to appeal the decision of the director within twenty days after completing the required temporary safeguards. For the purposes of this article, the director shall employ the necessary labor and materials to perform the required work as expeditiously as possible.
