§ 1.01.040. Severability.

It is declared to be the intention of the metropolitan county council that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses, phrases and words of the ordinance codified in this chapter and the Code adopted in this chapter are severable, and if any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of such ordinance or of such Code shall be declared unconstitutional or otherwise invalid by any valid judgment or decree of a court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect any of the remaining sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses, phrases and words of the ordinance codified in this chapter, or of this Code, since the same would have been enacted by the metropolitan county council without the incorporation in the Code of any such unconstitutional or invalid section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word.
