§ 2.20.080. Employees—Conflict-of-interest restrictions.

  • A.

    No officer or employee connected with the department of codes administration, except one whose only connection is as a member of the board of building code appeals, shall be financially interested in the furnishing of labor, material, appliances for construction, repair, alteration or maintenance of a building, or in the design or making of plans or specifications therefor, unless he is the owner of such building. No such officer or employee shall engage in any work or conduct any business which is inconsistent with his duties or with the interests of the department.

    B.

    No officer or employee of the department of codes administration shall be financially or otherwise interested in the furnishing of any labor, materials or appliances for the installation, alteration, repair or maintenance of any electrical, gas, mechanical plumbing installation or system, or in the making of any plans or the preparation of any specifications therefor, except in such instances where such officer or employee is the sole legal owner of the building or structure where such installation is to be made.
