§ 2.24.115. Officers—Duties.

  • The chief executive officer of the department of information systems shall be the information systems director, who shall be appointed by the metropolitan mayor and who shall serve at the pleasure of the metropolitan mayor. The information systems director shall, with the approval of the metropolitan mayor, establish divisions within the department of information systems and assign the functions, duties and goals of each division. Said director shall determine the staffing requirements of each such division and assign personnel in a manner consistent with the requirements and rules of the civil service commission of the metropolitan government and within the budget appropriation of said department. Said director shall review all proposed computer related purchases of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and advise the purchasing agent or the requesting department whether the proposed purchase is appropriate for the need.
