§ 2.156.020. Membership—Appointment and term of office.

    The board of directors of the emergency communications district shall have nine members, appointed by the metropolitan county mayor, subject to confirmation by the metropolitan county council. Appointments to the board of directors shall include members selected from minorities as well as members of the sex which historically has been underrepresented on boards and commissions of the metropolitan government; provided, however, that one member to the board shall be selected from each of the school districts of the metropolitan board of public education.

    B.

    Members of the board of directors shall serve for a term of four years; provided, however, that the initial members shall be appointed for staggered terms of two, three and four years, dating from the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter. The members shall serve without compensation.
