§ 6.76.020. Officers established—Powers and duties.

    There shall be a sealer of weights and measures, deputy sealers of weights and measures and a weighmaster of the metropolitan government, which officers are vested with police power for the enforcement of all ordinances and laws, state and municipal, that pertain to their duties, but none other. The officers shall be under civil service, shall take the usual oath for officers for the faithful performance of their duties and shall give bond in the sum of one thousand dollars for the safekeeping of property committed to their care. The metropolitan government shall pay the premium of the bond for such officers.

    B.

    The weighmaster shall write a legible handwriting. He shall be able to keep files and records, and shall make reports in his own handwriting to the director of the division of purchase each week, the time allowed for these reports being not later than Monday of the following week. He shall also make bond in an indemnity insurance company for not less than one thousand dollars for the faithful performance of his duties and the accounting of moneys handled by him. The metropolitan government shall pay the premium of the bond for the weighmaster.

    C.

    The deputy sealers of weights and measures shall perform such duties as shall be designated by the sealer of weights and measures.
