§ 2.20. Disability in line of duty—Conditions.

A member of Division A who is an employee and who becomes disabled, as defined in Section 2.17, as a direct result of any act or thing done which, as determined in the discretion of the pension commission, was required of him in the performance of his duty as an employee shall be eligible to retire from the active employment of the employer on his disability retirement date, which shall be the first day of the month following the determination by the pension commission that he is disabled, and to receive a disability benefit as provided in Section 2.21.
