§ 2.20.020. Powers and functions.

The department of codes administration shall have the power and its duty shall be to perform the following functions:

A.

The enforcement of all laws, ordinances and regulations relating to electrical installations, building and construction, plumbing installations, gas/mechanical installations, the housing code and the zoning code and regulations;

B.

To provide administrative staff services to the following boards:

1.

Metropolitan board of fire and building code appeals,

2.

Metropolitan board of plumbing examiners and appeals,

3.

Metropolitan board of housing code appeals,

4.

Metropolitan board of electrical examiners and appeals;

5.

Metropolitan board of gas/mechanical examiners and appeals;

C.

Perform such other duties as may be assigned to it by ordinance or by order of the mayor.
